Chocolate and raspberry walnut rugelachs eaten with fried-then-stirred garlic scallion noodles. I normally don't combine anything with rugelachs but milk, lest its deliciousness be polluted. But I was craving something sweet as I was eating the noodles and rugelachs were the only thing sweet I was in the mood for, so comes the sacrifice. The noodles' combined savory, garlicky, oil-glazed flavor and slippery texture totally overpowers the rugelach's sweet, creamy chewiness. Still good, but what a waste. Maybe some kind of fruit or ice cream would've sufficed with the noodles. The rugelach stands alone.

- plate of garlic scallion noodles = 590 Calories, 5g fiber, 2100mg Sodium, 15% of daily Iron
Wow that really added up. And damn the Sodium is through the roof. No wonder I was craving sweet, needed a break from all that salt, even if I didn't feel it at the time. But got in a quarter of a day's Iron and some fiber too. That's something at least.
